Let's suggest 84- Taking it easy 30
Message de here4u posté le 14-04-2025 à 22:48:25 (S | E | F)
Hello dear Friends!

Another easy exercice that everyone can do!

1) Tell us about an encounter that has changed your life.

2) Who is the person (dead or alive!) that you admire most?

3)What is your idea of 'a great holiday'?

4) What do you do when you have 'nothing to do'?

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Hello dears,

ANSWER A: topic 4: please indicate possible mistakes, and underline what looks clumsy to you.

My idea of a 'GREAT holiday' is very simple; where we are is not important, just outside of big cities and especially together.
i like to have my close family living with us: grandparents, parents and grankids, uncles and aunts if possible. We need a large accomodation where each unit of the family has a room, and where cousins can be together. We stay in the middle of woods or in the countryside, with no noise or trafic jams... We have time, we take the time to talk and play boards games, to take long walks and go cycling. We don't watch TV, but invent games where each generation have fun equally; we sing, we cook together, but mostly, we reconnect. I love these moments an we all look forward them.

for your help!

Hello!

ANSWER A: topic 4:my indications and green allowed.

My idea of a 'GREAT holiday' is very simple; the place where we are is not important, it must only be just outside (of) big cities* and above all, we must be especially together.
i I like to have my close family living with us: grandparents, parents and grandkids, uncles and aunts if possible. We need a large accomodation (uncountable) where each unit member? of the family has a room, and where cousins can be together. We stay in the middle of woods or in the countryside, with no noise or traffic jams... We have time, we take the time to talk and play boards (no -s) games, to take long walks and go cycling. We don't watch TV, but invent games where each generation have has fun equally (rather : all generations have fun equally); we sing, we cook together, but mostly, we reconnect. I love these moments and we all look forward to living them.

Très bonne expression.

* "Just outside big cities" would mean "close to, but not in big cities", if think it was not the writer's intent.

Hello gerold!

Thanks for your suggestions!

ANSWER A: topic 4: gerold's suggestions and my further indications.

My idea of a 'GREAT holiday' is very simple; the place where we are is not important, it must only be just outside (of) big cities* and above all, we must be especially together.
i I like to have my close family living with us: grandparents, parents and grandkids, uncles and aunts if possible. We need a large accomodation (uncountable-oui, mais il se trouve parfois avec article et partitif)) where each unit member?(I suppose the author meant 'couple'...?) of the family has a room, and where cousins can be together.

Très bonne expression.Très bonnes corrections !

* "Just outside big cities" would mean "close to, but not in big cities", if think it was not the writer's intent.(sure, but why not? the author may not appreciate long hours of transportation; In your opinion, what did the author mean?

Thanks for everything!

Hello dears,

Here is ANSWER B: topic 4: What do you do when you have 'nothing to do'?

That is a strange question ... I have never nothing to do ... On times, when I am not in work, in my office with my work mates,
I have not always a lot to do. In my work I speak with my friends, I drink coffee and we go back to work ...
Out of work I do sports three times by week, an hour all the time. When I am in home, I look at TV, listens to news and follows sport: specially football. I don't play football now because I've hurt my knee when I was forteen and had to reeducate my leg. Looking at matches is away for compensating my blessing ... I dream that I am one of the foofball stars and I'm happy. 124 mots.

Please, help the author, indicating mistakes and underlining what looks clumsy to you.

for your help!

Maybe the author used "just" with the meaning of "only" : the place where we are is not important, it should only/just be outside big cities, not necessarily "just outside" ...

And "the middle of woods" is definitely far outside big cities (I think the author doesn't mean the Bois de Boulogne .

answerB topic4
I drink coffee and we go back to work.je dirai: WE COME BACK to work ( elles reviennent)
I don't play football now : ( I no longer play football)
on peut dire aussi : I haven’t played football since I hurt my knee when I was 14.

Hello dears,

Magie a écrit: Hello.
answerB topic4
I drink coffee and we go back to work. Je dirais: WE COME BACK to work ( elles reviennent)
(I come back from work)

GO [We go back to work!]

I don't play football now : ( I no longer play football)
on peut dire aussi : I haven’t played football since I hurt my knee when I was 14.

-'I no longer play football' : parfait. (Magie a bien insisté sur le TEMPS avec 'longer' alors que 'no more' insisterait sur une quantité. ; I don't play football any longer serait bon.

- I haven’t played football since I hurt my knee when I was 14: modèle grammatical pour bien réfléchir aux temps à employer en fonction du moment de l'action et de sa 'qualité'.
Bravo ! Merci, magie !
