Hello everyone
Dans un exercice j'ai trouvé cette phrase:
Not only the trousers were very ugly, but they were also very expensive!
Comme je suis en train d'apprendre "l'inversion avec les adverbes negatifs ou semi negatifs"
je me demande si la phrase ci-dessus est juste
et si je peux dire aussi :
Not only were the trousers very ugly but they were alsovery expensive
les deux constructions grammaticales sont elles justes??? et si oui laquelle est la plus courante??

Il faut inverser.
Cambridge dictionary :
To add emphasis, we can use not only at the beginning of a clause. When we do this, we invert the subject and the verb:
Not only was it raining all day at the wedding but also the band was late.
Not only will they paint the outside of the house but also the inside.
