Let's suggest 109/ Taking it easy 55

Hello dears,

Another easy exercice that everyone can do! Let's write together...

1) All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All play and no work makes Jack a silly boy!

2) Don't be a voice crying in the wilderness...

3) Where there's a will, there's a way...

4) Every cloud has a silver lining.

Go for it! with THE FORCE.

Hello dears,

ANSWER A: topic4: Every cloud has a silver lining

This proverb means that a negative occurrence may have a positive aspect to it. Every unpleasant situation might has some advantage. This expression encourages us when we are overcome by some difficulties and we are unable to think positively.. We must know that the darkest hour is just before the dawn. We must keep our head above the wave do not let any despair drags us under.
Sometimes Fate brings us strange surprises. A friend of us missed his train. It was a very serious problem because he had an important meeting and there were any train before the next day morning. Well, you won't believe me ; the train he had missed crashed into another and there were many dead and injury people. Imagine if he hadn't missed his train, not only he would not have arrived at his appointment on time, but also he could have been injured or worse.
Best of all, it was the next day that he met the woman of his life on the train he hadn't planned to take. They are married and now have three children.
No matter how dark a situation might be seem, there could yet come a golden morning.

Thanks for your help.

Hello dears,

Texte très bien corrigé. Il reste deux fautes et une inexactitude... Les trouverez-vous ?

En attendant, voici :

ANSWER B: Topic 4 : 'Every cloud has its silver lining'; please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy.

This proverb reminds me of the unclassifiable and very strange composer known as 'Moondog', who became blind at the age of sixteen as he was holding a block of dynamite which exploded in his hands. Out of this big misfortune came the good thing that he went to the Iowa School for the Blind, where he studied music at a level he couldn't have afford in the normal system. But actually, instead of 'every cloud', I'd rather say 'A lot of clouds', for I doubt the saying fits all kinds of misfortunes. Hopefully I'm too pessimistic, but I really doubt there is any silver lining for all the people living everyday under the threat of bombs in so many places in the world, or for those trying to escape hunger and misery in perilous boats, never sure to get anywhere... I couldn't look them in the eye, talking about 'silver linings'. But, as I said, I do hope this is too pessimistic...

Thanks for your help!

The spell checker flags "unclassifiable". This seems correct, though.

Hello again!

ANSWER A Topic 4

Il reste deux fautes et une inexactitude...

... We must keep our heads above water ...

This proverb means that a negative occurrence always has (not may have) a positive aspect to it (even if we don't think it's true).
